Stop Over-drinking and Start Living, Episode 89, How to Retrain Your Brain

This week I’m sharing how you can retrain your brain to have new habits.   It comes down these 2 things-  

1st - consistently and repeatedly interrupting the automatic cycle you are currently on.  

  • Stopping, pausing, and feeling instead of drinking or eating. 
  • Retraining your brain that instead of pouring a glass of wine, we pause, feel, and process.   
  • Once you do this repeatedly it becomes your automatic response instead of pouring the glass of wine.  

2nd - start to reprogram your brain with new thoughts.  

  • Going from thinking 'I just love wine!’ To ‘wine’s ok, I enjoy it occasionally.’
