Stop Over-drinking and Start Living, Episode 80, How NOT Hitting Rock Bottom Could Be Worse
This week I'm discussing how NOT hitting rock bottom could be worse.
When we are stuck in a high-functioning pattern of living our lives, working, taking care of our families, we can let YEARS pass us by without making significant changes with our relationship with alcohol.
This is very dangerous. Because on the outside, most people won't recognize you as being someone with a drinking problem, so you don't get the interventions and external pressure.
And because of being here, it's sometimes very difficult for you to admit to your family and friends that you want to cut back because you don't want labels and for people to worry that you can't drink.
So, we stay stuck and hidden, and before we know it decades are passing. You don't have to hit rock bottom and for your life to completely unravel to get help.
Tune in and hear how this place, sort of in the middle, can often be more detrimental.
