Ep 290 Why do I Need to Know How my Feelings Feel?

My amazing client asked me this question and I thought it was so great that I did a podcast on it.

Your feelings drive your behavior, so if you are wanting to make behavior changes, learning how to feel your feelings and understanding your feelings on a deeper level is crucial.

This episode dives into the WHY we want to know how your feelings actually feel in your body. I'm talking about the physical sensations you get when you are having a feeling.

The tightness you feel when you are anxious.

The fiery hotness you feel when you are angry.

The empty hollow feeling you feel when you are sad.

The lightness you feel when you are happy.

These are the sensations of your feelings. And if you can develop a skill of noticing and describing these sensations while they are happening, a couple things will happen.

  1. You can pause long enough to interrupt automatic behavior and prevent doing something you actually don't want to do like drink alcohol.
  2. You will get to know yourself and your like/dislikes and give yourself natural pleasures and be able to process feelings instead of numb or escape or over-work/do
