Ep 307 Staying Ahead Of It
This episodes discusses the importance of doing the things that WORK to keep you drinking less or alcohol free.
A lot of times, we start to feel good and we let the practices that work slip away, and that is when things can get away from us.
I share a story of a small decision that helped me stay ahead of holiday stress, getting over-hungry and a cascade of events that can happen when we put our priorities and what is good for us last on the list.
Staying ahead of it is critical during busy and stressful times.
What is IT? It is feeling run-down, burnt out, overwhelmed, over-hungry, drained, or feeling thin. When we feel this way, we are susceptible to our old patterns of seeking comfort, ie ALCOHOL or food to comfort ourselves. And we know that relying on these things for comfort doesn't really work because we over-do it and then feel even worse.
So we have to stay AHEAD of it by taking care of ourselves, slowing down and prioritizing our well being.
You deserve to build in time for yourself to take good care of you no matter what is going on!
